A Best-Selling Self

A Best-Selling Self

“The new year stands before us, like a chapter in a book, waiting to be written.” ~Melody Beattie

It is a common practice to make New Year’s resolutions: give up this, take on that, commit to change, improve, grow.

But most New Year’s goals fade long before they are accomplished, dissipating after the early rush of enthusiasm like an early morning fog.

And most of our goals depend on “doing-ness.”

This year, perhaps it might serve to focus on “being-ness.”

Perhaps a choice to become more—not necessarily do more—to become more compassionate, or understanding, or tolerant, or courageous, or committed, or kind, or skilled, might propel our daily choices in directions that will build a stronger foundation for the follow-through necessary to complete our well-intentioned goals.

Because long-term goals—and character—are best achieved through small, daily choices.

Discipline. Determination. Dedication.

Writing one sentence, every day, will eventually culminate into a book worth reading.

May you become your best-selling self in 2018.

Happy New Year.

Communication, Connection, and Collaboration—the three “C’s”—are the cornerstones of all successful businesses. They are the result of Emotional Intelligence in action.

More details can be found in my recent best seller with co-author Jennifer Eggers:
Resilience: It’s Not About Bouncing Back

The power of resilience within organizations can transform an average company into a powerhouse. Yet, even in times of rapid disruptive change, there is no manual for building resilient organizations. This book is that manual.

“If you  want to build more resilience intentionally—personally and professionally—read this book.
